Brace yourselves, change is coming

In this documentary, I want to talk about and with Tunisian people who weren’t there during the 2011 revolution. That was my initial project. But since it’s a documentary, things can’t be hundred per cent under control. And I found myself forced to change everything because the reality didn’t meet my expectations. It happened that I’m obviously the only Tunisian in CCAD and one of the really few Tunisians in Columbus. So I’ve decided to talk about and with foreign people in Columbus. And as a start, my target will be international students. The particularity of this documentary is its unique way of giving more freedom to the people (characters), and let them sometimes and in some ways change the original subject. Away from the rigidity of the scenarios. The spontaneity of these characters and their desire to express themselves give them more credibility, and they will be more natural, Involved and dedicated to the subject.

That is, a way to speak up and say out loud what they think sometimes quietly. Their fears, their expectations, how the others see them (here and in their home countries). They will, and some of them are already, be aware of every detail of this film, even the technical details and problems that I encounter and I would meet. They will belong to this film, in every possible way.

Brace yourselves, interviews are coming

For the purposes of a short documentary. I need to find students, teachers, Arab workers in Columbus Ohio. If anyone can help me, it would be really great. I have found some contacts on the site of OSU, but I’m still waiting for reponses. And I won’t stop the research to be able to have as many people as possible in order to choose later. After having talked with them and finding out if they meet my expectations or not. Or if my project and I interest them enough. Your help or even your proposals at this level are welcome. But only at this level.
